Window Film is a base of laminated clear polyester that is either dyed, extruded or metallised. It is applied to the internal or external surface of glass windows or doors, it has a range of benefits including reducing heat and glare from the sun and increasing comfort and security and minimising energy usage.
This will depend on the size of the glass and the type of film you choose. We will carry out a free survey and discuss what would best suit your needs and then send you a comprehensive quote.
The glass is thoroughly cleaned, then using a soapy solution the film is applied. Once the film is in place the water is squeegeed out and left to dry naturally making it a firm fit.
You should use a simple soapy water solution and a soft cloth, however an alcohol based window cleaner may be used, but products containing ammonia should be avoided
Most professionally installed window film comes with a residential lifetime warranty and a 10 year commercial warranty against cracking, peeling, adhesive failure or demetalizing.
Installing a high-performance window film will dramatically reduce overheating, making your conservatory a much more comfortable and useable environment.
Window film will not completely eliminate fading from occurring. Depending on the type of film applied, it can reduce fading by up to 70%. There are many causes for fading, which are UV rays, solar heat and visible light. Window film can help combat all of these.
Security film does an excellent job at holding broken glass together, but it cannot prevent the window from breaking if it comes into contact with severe force.
It is possible for a practical person to install window film, however an experienced installer is recommended to ensure a perfect finish and you can benefit from a full warranty.
